No, never tried it Stompe (have only holidayed in Scotland for the last 7 years!). Will try it though. I have spent all evening trying to find a sleeps 2 villa in Tuscany with a private garden and pool for less than �900 and I'm now fed up.

Thanks Chris - that looks good. Thanks also for your suggestions on my other thread. Once I have decided on the "villa" (for various reasons that is important) I'll decide on the route, although your broad route sounds good.

Hi Barmaid, not sure if you have already tried it, but have you looked at www.holiday-rentals.co.uk?
It offered apartments/villas etc direct from owners and agents rather than a holiday company. I have used it on quite a few occasions and there is good choice and pretty good value.

Thanks Kira - they are a bit big though (only 2 of us). I've noticed that most are booked for July and August too. So I have just texted the OH to get some other dates.

I think I may have to take a "view" on the lack of private pool and garden, given the fact that everywhere seems booked!

DOnt know your specific dates, but there seem to be some available in July and Aug.
