Food in the Hold
Hi can you take any food in your suitcase that is going in the hold of an aeroplane..ie. cheese bacon etc. I am off to Tenerife in July and with the Euro being weak I was going to take a few bits and pieces with me as the Supermarket near my apartment is astronomical.
Thanks in advance Vikki

I have been to tenerife myself many times and have on several occasions taken bacon, cheese etc with me, as you rightly say, english cheese and good bacon cost a fortune there. Given that no customs checks ever appear to exist in Tenerife I don't see you having any problems, package them well in sealed bags and in a container everything should be fine. Things were certainly more tightly controlled when we had foot & mouth in the UK but you shouldn't have a problem now
I know it has nothing really to do with your question, but I think you must mean you get fewer euros for your pounds than before. This is because the pound is weak and the euro is strong, meaning that the same price in euros now amounts to more in pounds and therefore appears to have gone up in price.
