According to Steven Fry (QI program BBC2) the number of the beast is not 666,but 616.Not that it makes any difference whatsoever to an agnostic like myself.

If the mark of the beast was 666 then this already appears on everything we buy and sell. It's used as a marker for barcode readers.

I have one as i live in spain im a foreigner .Iam an extranjero which is a resident foreigner.i dont object to it as all the spanish nationals have 1 from the age of 16 i believe.its used to cash cheques as id for credit cards as id for the bank for getting loans etc .infact anywhere id is required its perfect.contains all the details like a drivers licence does.

fantastic idea and cost me 4 euros for the pictures and 7 eyros for the card. the spanish have one like a bank card with a chip in it with all your iinfo.the best thing ive noticed since living here 3 years.


no need to cost what the uk government say .tell them to ask the spanish for help.

Typical response from the anti-ID card brigade.

Of course no card, no amount of surveillance or anything else for that matter will completely bring acts of terrorism to a complete halt, but if ID cards can help to reduce these acts in some way, or trace some of the perpetrators of crime they must at least be given a try.

I would go one step further and make everyone register along with fingerprints and DNA. This would aid the police to trace anyone suspected of a crime, and we would also know who is legally allowed to be in the country.

I know, I know the shout will go up, some will counterfeit these cards, maybe but even now certain documents are already counterfeited, along with Bank Notes etc. but have you ever seen one?

my passport expires in a year
the card will cost about 30 quid and a passport is what?nearer a hundred?id welcome the card and im now on the databse as wanting one

if you have nothing to hide why worry about an ID card? if it stops illegal activities it has to be good
