Half time contract, working full time

Hi I have been working 18.5 hrs a week for the last 13 months,which i am contracted for. I have been working full time for the past 6 weeks as a staff member left, after 6 weeks can i claim these full time hours permanatly or do they have to be advertised as a new post.

You can't automatically get a job by claiming to be a 'sitting tenant' I'm afraid. Depending on the company's policy they may have to advertise internally. Hopefully if you have been seen to have done well you will get the job.
