Morning all. Yesterday the in laws came to visit, bearing gifts from their holiday. Mr O & all the junior O's received expensive watches. My mother in law handed me a box of branded washing powder, saying she'd noticed I use a supermarket own brand and she didn't think it was good enough.
What an insult!

Morning Mrs. O - I don't know how you kept a straight face when she gave the washing powder to you.

As they say 'blood is thicker than water' - and my hubby would never stand up for me against his family.

I would give her an equally sh!t present for her birthday or Christmas.
Love the t-shirt

My mil is horrible but I tolerate for the boys but luckily my hubby dislikes her more than I do.

I'd have said OMG you didn't have to spend so much money on me I feel so gulity it's far ore than I expected.

Or tell her you used thast washing powder and now her darling son has come out in a rash - all down to her.

Then get the vodoo doll out and forget the pins use a drill

yeh....shrink all the clothes so OH has to renew - and blame the washing powder.
I had one of those mother in laws. Left the present buying to my husband eventually, some very odd stuff, unwrapped. The look on her face was worth all the years of misery.
What a nerve!!! cheeky old git. I would not have her near my home, with that kind of behaviour. Also if my mr Blackie didn't like it, he could f offf back to live with mummy.
blackietwo....luv it. OH left for mums; one half filled bin bag contained ALL his possessions ;)
What a cow! What does your husband have to say about it?
LOL tambourine. Black bags were invented for mens possessions. ' don't touch my matching luggage, you came with a black bag now f off with one'
LOL Redman thats funny
I would say don't buy her anything, but if you have the nerve buy a toilet roll and say that you thought it would come in useful because she's so full of s??t !
I thought my mother-in-law used to be tight (she bought underpants for her 2 sons for birthdays or christmas) but the daughter (youngest by 9 years) got expensive prezzies. It used to make my blood boil. Anyway there was a big barny when my eldest was about 3, and me and the kids didn't see them for ages, but my husband kept in touch with them, even tho he did side with me. It put a strain on our marriage but we loved each other so didn't let it spoil things. There is a longer saga following this but I won't bore you!

Hi again.
I had a long and frank chat with Mr O about this. He went down his usual route of "don't let it get to you".
My daughter offered to give me her watch as she hates it (bless her).
My normally idiotic eldest stuck up for me and told Mr O that he should let me buy their pressies from now on.
Watch this space a bit nearer Xmas lol
send all the washing over to MIL as family are now addicted to her washing powder.
mrs O do put up a what shall I get my mil for Xmas post nearer the time - many ideas will be forth coming if this post is anything to go on

Mrs O, I hope your MIL is not a member of this site.
