2 Answers
Morning all,
I have yet another question to ask regarding multi region DVDs.
The DVDs that i want to buy are region 1. I now have the multi region DVD player but according to the seller of the DVD (Amazon) I will need a NTSC compatible TV.
What is a NTSC compatible TV?
WHy is technology so confusing??????????????????????????????
Many thanks

In the UK and Europe PAL is used. Some TVs can work with both PAL and NTSC. You need to consult the manual of your TV to find out if (a) if it can play NTSC, and (b) whether you need to change some setup options in order for it to do so.
as long as you connect the TV and DVD with a decent RGB scart cable (not all cheap cables have all the RGB pins connected) then it doesn't matter if it's NTSC or PAL as neither will be used with a RGB connection (HDMI will bypass the PAL/NTSC issue too)
Also most modern PAL (uk) televisions will decode NTSC anyhow because PAL is just two NTSC systems operating phase shifted to each other.
