I did not find Charlie Chaplin funny, nor Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck. Laurel and Hardy or Tom and Jerry. I also didn't laugh at Norman Wisdom... need I go on...?

Not quite sure what you mean. Other than Chaplin, none of these is British by any stretch of the imagination, and Chaplin became so Americanised that he hardly qualifies either...

Charlie Chaplin may have been born here but he was definately not a typical British act, Stan laurel was born here too but ditto, Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse are as american as main st USA disneyland, Norman Wisdom was a genius.

Or just a sense of geography? Charlie Chaplin and Stan Laurel were British but their films, like almost everything else you mention, were mainly made in the USA.

laurel and hardy eat your heart out!!!!i would be off sick at home from school and watching all my brothers laurel and hardy videos...it was so cool and so funny, my mum used to get me by the ear and make me get dressed for school, if i was well enough to laugh out so loud, i was well enough to go to school....charlie chaplin was cute, but never watched him and norman wisdom made me p*ss myself laughing hahahaha................oh those were the days

Now Peter Kay -he is a genius in my opinion as well Dot and Alan Carr (Ok OK -not everyones cuppa -but mine lol).
Like Jonathan Ross' wit -he doesnt do stand up but he is funny as Fluff on his chat show and Saturday morning show on Radio 2
