Earlier this week I saw a programme on BBC 1 called Heir Hunters. This prog contained details of a family related to mine but we are NOT heirs. How can I obtain a DVD of that programme without having to wait until they do a box of the entire series. I only want the one programme. I have tried, I can't save an IPlayer version. Any help or advice would be most welcome as to how I can purchase a copy. Thanks.

Two points, unless the programme was a repeat(and I wach it and it isn'r) it won't be on DVD yet.
Also, due to the fact that this is a series of quite long series (does that make sense?)I cannot see it coming out on DVD.
However,
If you go to the BBC i player here:~
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/tv/bbc_one
you will see all BBC1 programmes (for the past week) listed.
Click on the date pf the programme(on top left) and then click on All Day(top right) and you will see all the programmes in time order.
Look down to 9.15 and you will see Heir Hunters, click on it and the programme(complete) will run.
IF the Heir Hunters programme you are seeking is more than a week away then this won't help.
Sorry.
If you get stuck just post and let me know.
I think graham51 is more interested in obtaining a copy rather than actually just viewing Mr V
No doubt puternut,
but as I don't think this series of programmes will ever come out on DVD,I thought that at least viewing it might help to retain it until it does come out.
I stand to be corrected Mr V but I am sure that when you download a BBC iPlayer programme you can watch it as many times as you like but you can only keep it for 7 days.
You are correct(to a certain extent) whiskeryron, except you cannot "keep" them.
Programmes on BBC iplayer are only viewable for 7 days from the date of transmission.
So if graham does not reply to (and read) this question soon the programme in question will probably have been removed from iplayer.
As of today the BBC iplayer programmes for BBC1 start with 9th Feb,and tommorrow 10th Feb and soo on,and new dates are added as the old ones are deleted.
As you will see from this,if you have been viewing a programme from the 9th Feb,it will be removed from iplayer tommorow, regardless of when you first viewed it.
I just hope graham is quick, but as this is Tuesday and question was posted on Friday it doesn't look like it.
Contact the BBC.
Heir Hunters did a follow-up segment on one programme where beneficiaries had been alerted in circumstances such as yours.
".............Mrs so-and-so was watching Heir Hunters and contacted the programme."

Good luck !!

However, in order to save yourself 10 - 40% of your 'entitlement' DO NOT sign up with these companies, that's the commission they charge for putting your claim forwards to the Treasury. The paperwork, whilst complicated is NOT insurmountable for a lay-person to complete.

Thank you all for your input. I have also been in contact with the programme makers, Flame TV to see if they can assist.
