Do you know anyone who has got the £400? Had a guy round to give me a quote yesterday he said only £147000 up for grabs!! He has installed 18 boilers since this started & not one for them got it.

I'd say we'd qualify. The boiler in this house (and electrics) are so old they are bordering on the dangerous. I curse the fact that OH's best mate works for British Gas. He keeps fixing the fluffing thing when we actually need a new one. I burst into tears yesterday because it's packed up again and I was so cold.

My boiler is about 30 years old G rated but I am not holding out any hope of getting the £400

I'd say ours is older. The sparky thinks the electrics are the same as the day they were put in...!!

When his mate came round to check the boiler he was shocked and kept shaking his head. I asked how bad....he just said so so bad....could it have killed me...afraid so.

i got a letter telling me wed been succesful in the application,
whatever you do dont let the gas man start work before you get confirmation by letter

Replace it....lol. He's a bit tight like that....his answer 'you're not dead, why are you moaning'

It is cost about 2K!!!! I can't have the new boiler in the same place due to all the building regs.

I think I qualify but my boiler works just fine (if not very efficiently). a new boiler is mega bucks to get fitted, and I don't have the balance needed right now!

my boiler is at least 23 years old , im only getting heating, no hot water , will be getting the new boiler put in in the next 2 weeks ( when gas man can fit me in )

Got back from Las Vegas last night what a place!!!!! Not impressed with BA or Terminal 5 at Heathrow (It looks like a Greenhouse) We arrived in Vegas Monday 22/02/10 at 18.30 our cases arrived Wednesday 24/2/2010 8.00am!! When I got home I have got my voucher for the boiler scrappage
