locking nuts
hi there hope someone can help, got two new tyres fitted on my vectra last week then last night got a puncture and could not remove the locking nut, had to call rac and they couldn't remove it either the guy said that it had been put on with a compressor gun at the garage and the locking nut was knackered can anyone advice me what to do? thanks

i would ring the tyre shop - complain like hell & get them to come & rectify the problem as it was their stupid fitter that overtightened them,
otherwise get some of these

I would do as gsr600 says and complain
Ideally, the nuts should be tightened with a torque wrench to the car manufacturers spec.. All the main tyres fitters no this but still carry on using air guns on wheel nuts for quickness. Plus they must of been mad using it on a locking nut.
When i have taken my car in they have always warned me before hand they are not responsible if the locking nut threads. As like yours they no every garage use,s air guns so they cover them selfs.
