Can anyone tell me how to change the outgoing message on a BT Response 310 ansering machine/phone combined? We can't find the instruction booklet and the current message has the voice of someone who has recently died on it, upsetting many of the callers. We need to deal with this quickly, please help if you can.

I can't help directly but certainly appreciate that you wanty a quick answer... try the BT.com Online Shop Customer Services on 0800 309 080. Best wishes.
I've had a couple of BT machines and normally there is a button marked "outgoing message" or similar , usually under a flap or the like, you press it and keep it depressed, it beeps, you speak your message, then release the button, it plays it back to you and resets waiting for incoming again. Hope this helps

Thanks! There's a BT user guide helpdesk on 0800 980 8999 if anyone else has a similar problem, Mike's suggested site referred me there. The outgoing message button is cunningly hidden under the plastic strip on which you write your speed dial numbers. Problem solved we hope.
