Have you ever exchanged texts with a stranger before realising that you'd got the wrong number?

lmao... I've just been texting someone, thinking it was someone else. We exchanged pleasantries such as...

"What are you up to this evening?"

"No much, you?"

"Just having a drink and messing about on the comp."

"Yeah me too."

"You having a drink?"

"No, not tonight. You?"

"Yep, just having a G&T."

"Oh great. Who are you btw..?"

"Oh fcuk."

Oh dear... I should really learn to put number into my phone.

Ha ! Very funny, Mark. :-)
Not meant to be funny at all, NoM...

The statistic about the very small percentage of Americans who have a passport is well founded. There is also a recognised psychiatric condition (I forget its name just now) for the feelings that Americans get when leaving America for the first time. Not just that "abroad" is nothing like they've been taught, but also the total inability to come to terms with what the rest of the world thinks of their country...

I meant your comment about never having been to N.K....
What you are stating is correct MarkRae but there are several areas in and around the world(including the UK) that are also profoundly insular.
NoM - understood.

Garmard - no doubt, but I can only talk about what I know...
i just think that going somewhere where everyone says 'have a nice day' would drive me futs. in a recent survey, 68% of americans couldn't identify where they lived on a map of the us. says it all, really....x
Och Jayne, you wee soul...:)

Well, I have had this experience twice!! But it went the other way with me.A lady texted me by mistake thinking it was someone they knew.So I had to explain that I was not this person.
I can't remember now what was said, but she sounded like a respectable person by the way she texted me.
(sigh!!)
Imhotep, I had a male friend who this happened to and he ended up going out with the girl!
Stonekicker, not only that but a significant proportion of Americans believe they won the Vietnam war...
ha ha ha! what a bunch of idiots...they are very self-obsessed. mr kicker's stepmum was a septic tank and v. annoying. rich, but still v. annoying - and uneducated in the ways of the world considering she'd been finished off in europe and gone to an ivy league university. poor woman x
NoM, were you trying to text me initially?
Wow.....what a result karenmac!!!
I wonder if they will ever get married!! :D
Had a friend who was suffering from cancer. Sent her a text msg asking if she wanted ciggies. At the time son shared my mobile, msg went to one of his chums, they thought I was selling contraband fags, son thought I was trying to chat his friend up, all got very confused.
