it was a cpl of hundred so would feel bad if i kept it, its not like findin a fiver in th street but saying that if no one claims it then it will come in handy to me! lol.
I'd just wait till they contact you. Was it a cash machine outside a bank or one on its own? If with bank maybe you should go in and tell them that money is at police station, that way when someone calls them they can tell them
I left my wallet with £150 in plus credit cards etc at the self serve cashier tray in Tesco.
Didn't realize till I got home, phoned them up and somebody had handed it in to customer service.
Still some good people about.
well im pretty sure theyd be able to say which ATM, what time, prove by bank statements etc it was theres.
Its not as if people call into the police station daily asking if £x has been handed in is it
As long as you left all your details at the station and it was logged properly they should of told you when and if you are able to claim it. At the least they should have given you a case number so you can come back and ask.
I think it is about 6 months but sometimes if it is very valueble then it can be longer.
My son found £10 outside the school gates. I made him hand it in....what if that was the last money they had to their name? No one claimed it so the school gave it him back and he donated half of it to charity....
Persumably the person who lost the money is not aware as to where it was lost .
Therefore if you have handed it in to a police station ; it's not very likely that the person is going to know ( if they have even considered that the person finding it has handed it in to a police station ) which police station it was handed in .
