Vista - Lost Password

Hi all - A friend of mine rang me and told me he'd forgotten his logon password. His pc's running vista and as i run xp, i went and had a search on the internet for a solution. Seems there's a reset password option on the logon screen but that only works if a reset password disc has been made.........and it hasn't!! Any ideas how i can bypass and then reset the password - i can do it on xp but vista's got mi stumped!! Thanks in advance - Carlos

Try smacking your friend round the head repeatedly, while shouting "What's the password?" at the top of your voice. This may or may not work, but at least he's unlikely to be so stupid again.

if there are no other users - the administrator is there - but disabled - and if you could get round it - it wouldn't be security would it?
