On service records, the RAF list the various stations where the individual served. there isa column headed 'reason' which is often left blank.

On my wife's record as a WAAF, one listing has the letters 'HH' in the 'reason' column.
Does anyone know what this might mean?

?Home Help.....sorry.
have checked my RAF books and some sites but can find no trace of HH. Could one of the H's refer to Hospital ?.HH might refer to something within your wife's RAF trade.
sorry couldn't be more help.

Could HH be a poorly-written HE? If it's HE, it might mean "Home Establishment", which, I think, meant something like "Home base", or a permanent posting. Just a thought.

thanks, bookbinder. No, 'HH' is quite clearly written and looks like remaining a mystery.
