I listened to a discussion recently about how important various activities were in people's lives and there were comments about many sports, travel, social events and such like. These things were described as 'the stuff of life', but a lot of it makes life seem trivial when you think about it. What are the most important things in your life and what would you be prepared to give up?
its a shame noone has been able to provide you with anything yet.
i think life is what you make it whether the things that make your life interesting and eventful are considered by anyone else to be trivial is neither here nor there. personally my life revolves around my family and my children. i love travelling and my hobbies which to some might be mundane and dull, but to me define my personality and substance in life, so to me they are the stuff of my life. if i ever get bogged down in the triviality of my life, there is always something else to add some zing.
in terms of importance, it would be my children, anything else i would give up if i really had to, but not them.
Well I have to chime in also, my two kids (they are in their 40's and 50's) now. I also like my husband and the closeness to the earth that I have, the changing of the seasons, the walks in the woods, listening to the birds, watching the cycles of young ones, animals that is. I also value my medical care, dental especially. As I have gotten older, I appreciate my friends more. Although, I basically am a loner.
