We went on holiday to Italy, Drowsey came too, but coming home she got left on the plane. Daughter was heartbroken. I must have made a hundred phone calls trying to find her, in the end we had to give up.Manufacturers had stopped making the doll too.
25 years later when my daughter was pregnant with her first child (a girl) I decided to try to track 'Drowsey' down again. Found a toy store in the USA who actually stocked her but didn't ship to the UK. So I sent a long email with our story and asked if they could make an exception, One of the assistants in the store took it to heart and personally dealt with it.
When my first G/daughter was born 'Drowsey' was her first gift and first dolly.(My daughter was in floods of tears to see Drowsey again)
That G/daughter now treasures her Drowsey and she doesn't leave her side either.

Hi zzxxee - not quite the same toy story line but I was about 4 years old and we were on a long car journey. I was eating an apple and then fell victim to car sickness. Dad pulled over for mum to attend to me and then our car was hit up the back by an old dear. Nearly a year later someone recalled the accident and I asked mum what had happened to my apple. It was inconceivable to me at that tender age that anyone would have discarded half a perfectly good apple :o)
