can't turn on cookies !!!!!

I cannot access hotmail thru the hotmail site coz it asks me to switch on cookies. I have gone through the steps cliked on the button ....they appear to be on .....I try again to access the hotmail account and again I am told to switch on the cookies. I go to the options again and lo and behold they are switched on but the site doesn't seem to cop it at all. Can anyone help?

You may need to close your browser and re-open it before the new settings are recognised. (Note, by the way, that it's perfectly safe - and indeed, advisable - to delete your Hotmail cookies between sessions. It won't work without cookies, but you don't need to keep the same cookie from session to session.)
