What should the Ed give us for Christmas.?

I am anxious to see the further up-date of AB and, as the Ed is already in the Christmas spirit, perhaps a few suggestions from us could be of assistance to him.

For instance, should we call for a pardon on all banned and suspended members.? Is there an area of AB which needs 'tweeking'.? etc.

I am so pleased to read that Jan likes to 'do' something special for the festivities ;o)
Yes anne. I agree with Jan .... moderators should have the ability to remove posts.

If moderators were "grudge-suspending", they'd soon find their moderator status withdrawn (and quite rightly too).
Thanks ttfn. I may also throw in the odd snowball or two and maybe a glass of port. Shocking what! :-)
I would like the Ed to give me a hand-embroidered monitor cover, so I won't forget he's there.
if moderators are completely unbiased. why are we not informed who they are ?
Do we KNOW really KNOW that these unpaid member mods really exist?
Cocktails at Jan's this Christmas! Hope sqad and mamya are on duty for the aftermath!
I couldn't give a monkey's who they are (well as long as I don't get suspended)
Anne, I think Chris (Buenchico) answered that question not long ago.

His answer went something along the lines of it being in the best interests of the moderator to remain anonymous, therefore avoiding any possibility of 'friends' of suspended/banned members verbally attacking the moderator who they suspect might have been responsible for the suspension/ban. I do think it is up to the individual though, and not a secret as such.

Regardless of how often peeps insist there is no 'clique' on AB - friendships will be formed by folk who have common interests, etc. That's just human nature. Therefore I agree with Chris on the anonymity front.
Thanks ttfn, you've reminded me I must add the alcohol to my Tesco delivery for Christmas week. It's going to be a long list...
hear hear mrs.c.
anne I can see your point but if moderators were not AB users there still could be no guarantee of their 100% impartiality. I believe they woiuld have to be avid readers of the site to understand and identify 'problem' postings and might still have 'favourites'. Integrity, fairness and impartiality are difficult enough to find anyway these days - imo.
Jan - the old Ibcol loo rolls were great for that. Can't be doing it now with the modern soft stuff - my jumbo marker just smudges all the writing <<sigh>>
