can anyone telling me why unleashed (jet li) is called danny the dog in america?

It says in http://www.filmthreat.com/Reviews.asp?Id=7209 that the name was changed for 'obvious marketing purposes' (I suppose 'Danny the Dog' does sound a bit Lassie-ish).  It's 'Unleashed' in America too now, isn't it?I think it's still called 'Danny the Dog' in French Cinemas though.
