I WAS WARNED BY MY DOCTOR NOT TO TAKE IBRUFEN AT SAME TIME AS PARACETAMOL (400MG 2 OF EACH) EVEN THOUGH THEY EFFECTIVELY REDUCED MY CHRONIC BACK PAIN (DEGENERATVE DISORDER). TAKEN SEPARATELY IS NOT EFFECTIVE!

Yes it is okay to take both. As a chronic haematology patient my specialists have regularly prescribed both when I have been suffering from both infection and pain or fever for the past ten years.
