Army Chinooks over Birmingham ...
18 Answers
We live not too far away from the new Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham where as well as the general public, many of the seriously injured army personnel from Afghanistan are taken for treatment.
Yesterday teatime we saw three of the big double rotor bladed helicoptors fly over head towards the hospital. A few minutes later we saw two fly back in formation closely followed by the third rapidly ascending as if it had just made a stop on the helipad on the roof.
I know this sounds fairly obvious that they were probably dropping off the next poor soul for treatment but I cannot remember seeing any of these aircraft dropping anybody off before let alone the spectacular site of seeing three of these machines over a major city.

Luckily i have no need to ever return there as my last remaining rel who lived there died last year.
