If you live in Scotland you get,

Free Eye tests

Free personal care in old age

Free Uni. tuition fees

Free prescriptions

--------------------------------

If you live in England

You pay around £19 for an eye test

Pensioners have to pay full residential care costs if they own assets of more than £23,000.

Students face paying up to £9,000 a year.

You pay £7.20 per item for perscriptions

How is then we get all the immigrants?

I think it's great that the Scots have incentives to stay where they are and keep their gene pool intact. Anyway life expectancy is pretty low there and most of them never reach an age to enjoy these benefits.
You forgot colder weather.
I'd rather head south, perhaps not as far as the Med, but that way.

As for the English getting less than other UK residents, it's the usual modern tale of pressure groups making enough noise getting stuff while the rest of us are left as unimportant. It's the fun game of 'kick the English citizens'.
Old Git - when you talk about England I think you mean London and the affluent "home counties" - immigrants from poorer parts of the UK and the world in general move there precisely because it is more affluent .
Maybe the immigrants are unaware of the free benefits in Scotland. We should encourage them to move there as they have loads of available unused space in the country.
