I'm doing roast beef tonight but I've never cooked it before! Do I need to do anyting to it before it goes in the oven, like rub oil on it or something? This may sound silly but I really have no idea what to do! Thanks
I bought some beef at the weekend, and on the packet it suggested rubbing with dry mustard powder before roasting. I didn't bother as I don't have any and it tasted just fine
A purist might suggest sealing it before putting in oven but not really necessary. Careful with the cooking and undercook if anything as when you take it out of the oven, it will need to rest before carving and will continue cooking.
yorkshire pudding mix .....
3 pound of plain flour
32 eggs
2oz salt
1& 1/2 pints milk
1& 1/2 pints water
mix as long as possible ( 1 hour is good )
leave to stand overnight ...........mix again .....
this should give you about 80 portions
