Puppy training

Hi All,

I got a gorgeous labrador puppy at the weekend, she was dead quiet when she first came home but has now turned into a hyper active puppy :D

Just wondering if anyone has any tips on training her out of biting while playing or to stop her grabbing hold of trousers and tugging!!!

She seems to like biting arms and hands especially when playing. I've tried yelping like it hurts but this doesn't phase her in the slightest and I have tried saying no sternly and giving her one of her toys to bite and chew on instead (this works sometimes).

As for trouser biting and tugging - nothing works! She just tugs and tugs and tugs lol!

She's great fun and I know as a puppy she'll learn, just looking for tips please. Already have her toilet trained in 5 days and she knows how to sit and give her paw :)

She tried humping twice last night, I thought at 8 weeks she was a bit young for that behaviour!

Nooooooooooooooooo!!!! I've just seen the photo of Rosie. I had decided not to get another black Lab when my two leave me but seeing her picture..........?!?! Gorgeous.

Will do sprinter. Ahhh, everyone seems to love her, I am proud of her and have loved showing her off! Can't wait to give her a happy life and look after her :)

the Ian Dunbar bite proofing advice is first class. If pup bites clothing and tugs, put your hand over the muzzle and press gently inwards opening the mouth and disengage the clothing. If you have extremely short nails and can do it gently, as the pup gets hold of your fingers tickle the roof of his mouth and say "gently" pup should open his mouth and back off. I would also stop the encouraging the rough play that leads to biting and certainly don't initiate it yourself, tempting and fun though it is
