arthritis fatigue
8 Answers
I am permanently tired because of the pain of arthritis and I am not allowed anti infammatory meds , which work, just pain killers, I know it's a big subject but was wondering if anyone has found a way of dealing with it, I am 64 , male, recently widowed and try to exercise every day now the weather is warmer , am also on sleeping pills as i am awake every 2 hours through the night. My doctor is stil investigating but without the anti-inflamms i just can't get going some days, any tips?

tfg. I am in the same situation as you, with osteo arthritis all over the place and (?) RA. I am also the same age as you.
My last blood test didn't show RA, although ones before have. I have IBS which really does play up when I take Nsaids, so I take paracetamol and Nsaids only when I am in really bad pain. However, I do take antidepressants and they do help. Please don't dismiss them. There is no shame or stigma in taking antidepressants at all. They don't knock you out like sedatives - they just help you cope and really do aid pain relief.
