bloodshot eyes

Looking in mirror this morning my eyes are really bloodshot.  Any ideas why?  Ive not been crying or in smoky atmosphere etc.Thanks

Are you a computer user?  Perhaps you've been spending too long at the screen?  If so, give yourself a 5 - 10 minute break every hour.    If the condition continues, it's possible you could be suffering from eye strain and need to have an eyesight test.    Sometimes just lack of a good night's sleep can leave your eyes looking a little puffy and red.

Could it be allergies? They make my eyes red.

Use something like Visine to get the red out...these are very gentle, but effective eye drops we have here in the US.

could be conjunctavitus.  Was there more than the usual amount of sleep?

Could also be overtired as Wendys says.  Try some chilled cucumber on them.

Hi, If your eyes are bloodshot and that is the ONLY symptom then it is probably just what the others here mentioned and can also be caused by a lot of coughing,   but if you have any kind of visual disturbance go see somebody ASAP as it might be the first signs of glaucoma.
