Has been said on here a few times, but my personal pet hate is 'at the end of the day'. But also can't stand 'do you know what I mean?' or 'do you know what I'm saying?'.
Ads for CDs on TV - "Buy it nah-ow!" and " Aht nah-ow!". Aaarrrgh! I wish I had a pound for every time I hear them.
"In all fairness" drives me potty because when someone says it, I feel they are saying that their opinion is 'the' only opinion which is completely the opposite of the fairness they're proclaiming.... Got that off my chest now ;o)
"At this moment in time" gets my blood boiling, talk about redundancy! Also known to get me muttering is "Bear with me" I want to shout back that I am keeping all my clothes on thank you very much!!+
I agree with paddy_36, I watched Big Brother a couple of years ago, and if you'd seen it you'll remember Leslie. She said 'At the end of the day' every single sentence she said, it was so incredibly enraging.
One of my collegues has a habbit of using the same silly sayings over and over.
It's usually mixed up real sayings, or sayings with interchanged letters or words...
They are in German, so it would probably not make much sense of repeating them, but in certain situations, I already know what he's going to say, and I cringe before I even hear it!

the phrase i hate is- end of!! what is the point in that phrase!! it started with maxwell and saskia in big bro and now grant is saying it in easties!!!!

My pet hates from the world of business:

"Let's touch base.."

"Thinking outside the box..."

"It's a new paradigm..."

Grrrr.

"The facts of the matter are..." Translation = "What I want you to believe is..."

' A million percent' - grrr!

I know it's not a phrase, but my pet hate is people saying 'pacifically' when they mean 'specifically'

What about people who use "aggravate" to mean "annoy", when it really means to make worse? It has become so common that dictionaries (Chambers )recognise the meaning, although only as a colloquial usage.
I really dislike "Almost unique ..." which is meaningless- something is either unique or it's not.You can't have degrees of uniqueness.

"Innit" really bugs me...
What the Hell are you trying to say?
"It's a nice day... Innit?" is almost acceptable!
"Green Day Rock... Innit?" Is wholly unacceptable on so many levels!

I've just come across these hated sayings and I think that all of those quoted are totally brilliant and I agree with every single person. I apologise here and now for posting some more so long after the last ones. Here goes:
1. Government spokesmen/women who say "....there are lessons to be learned here" and then promptly make the same mistakes again.
2. Men who say "....I've just had some tests done on my prostrate". Where the hell is that little old organ? I mean they've just spent time in the hospital with a Consultant and vast numbers of assorted sundry and they still can't get it right.
3. People who say "........innit". I think that's already been covered here but what the hell. If I say that the word should be 'inuit' then I wonder how many people would believe me and start saying it. Go on, spread it round.
