Has anyone watched Everybody Loves Raymond?

Here is a show that is on Channel 4 some mornings and never really took off as far as I can see. To me it is up there with Friends as one of the best US comedy shows ever. Then you've got dirge like How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory and all the rest taking up prime time slots, I don't understand why. Admittedly a show is better when you know the characters, but here is one of my favourite scenes.

I never managed to warm to any of the characters in ELR - i find Ray soppy and his mother sinister, and his dad hostile.

i adored 'Scrubs' though - so inventive, one episode as an opera, how cool is that?

ELR is probably one of the better comedy shows (couldn't stand Friends - very silly!) but the very best ever was Frasier.
