10:00pm tomight somebody shoved a large wheely bin into the road. A young Afghan cab driver stopped to move it & two oiks in masks ran out & took off with the car. The cab driver has just left my flat, his friend came to collect him. These morons have taken away his way of earning a living. He has a wife & two young boys. He came here 10 years ago because his family thought he would be safer than in Afghanistan.

I cannot tell you how angry I am.

Lawless Britain knows no bounds, it's going to affect everyone here and for a long time to come. Sickening? More than that and still nothing will be done to prevent any of this happening again!
hateful thing to do. I share your anger.
Hopefully he's insured - but that's not the point. At least he is OK - and not threatened with a gun or knife to get the car.
I'm sorry to hear that, Messalina. At least it's good to find someone posting here (about someone from Afghanistan) who isn't spouting the usual xenophobic rubbish that AB is so often filled with.

Here's some music to cheer you up ;-)

A quick follow up. The police have rung. The car has been in an accident in Tooting & the driver & co legged it. I do hope no one was hurt. Apparently, my local police have had to deal with about 25 similar incidents tonight. I don't live in one of the riot zones.
Hope the car hasn.t been too badly damaged so that the guy gets it back in a reasonable condition but with what's going on tonight maybe it won't turn out that way sadly.

Thank you, Buenchico - that happens to be one of my favourite songs & quite appropriate! Also, I know what you mean about xenophobia but he is a genuinely nice, if very shocked, young man,

One of the idiots did indeed have a knife but thankfully didn't use it. I'm hoping his car will be able to be rescued but I doubt it. And, yes, no one was hurt which is the most important thing.

I've just had a call to say that he's home safe & sound. Isn't it strange how you can be so worried about a stranger?
That's because you care Messalina and have shown that by what you did for this poor person, pity there aren't more like you out there.

Well, Daisya, that's very kind of you. I would like tothink that somebody would help me out if I needed it.
