Electric Light Orchestra
Any ELO nuts on here ? Does anyone know what they're up to these days ? Obviously there was the tragic death of Kelly Groucutt a few years ago but i'd love to know what they're up to.
Got everything they ever did or wrote....i still read Bev's 'ELO story' every so often but never saw them in their hayday with the magnificent 7 line up but saw the first gig they ever did as ELO part 2 at the Brighton centre.
Viva ELO

I found these games introduced a lot of youngsters to good 70s/80s music that they wouldn't otherwise have chosen to listen to.
Just done a bit of internet digging re ELO. When i a growing up and the band were in their peak, we didn't have internet to follow what was going on.
Anyways, it would seem that Jeff Lynne considdered ELO to be his (and Bevan's as they both jointly owned the band name) and the rest of the band members were just sallaried employees. From what i can gather, Lynne decided to change the ELO format in 1979 and get rid of the violin and cellos and the album "Discovery" had only Lynne, Bevan, Tandy and Groucutt as the group members. Apparently, the album "out of the blue" was the last album Mik kaminski played on for ELO.
After the album secret messages (probably my favourite album) was finnished, Lynne and the late Kelly Groucutt had a falling out over the proportion of royalties that Groucutt should receive. He was sacked from the band and successfully sued Lynne in court for approx £300k.
I'd love Bev Bevan to do a follow up to his book to chart the decline of the band and formation of the other groups such as ELO part 2 etc.
