But the Clyde also has (or had?) paddlesteamers.
Where I live the I've heard the phrase come up the Ribble on a banana boat, and I suppose it can be used of any major seaport on an estuary
However, I do like the double use of Puffer
I have gone for puffer
Can you help with
1) An old fashioned collar
2) Bail out in the shelter
3) Big container is not too sure
