Atheists - The Devil's Disciples?

I've been asked by a Christian ABer if I spent last night watching the Omen trilogy. Not very nice - but the question struck me as rather strange. I can't imagine why such a peculiar thought would even occur to anyone. Do these people really think that atheists are somehow aligned with the 'Devil'? And if so, why?

Naomi, sorry missed your post, no I do not believe I know the facts but I still have faith in a God. I can prove nothing neither can anyone else. You have now met a person with faith who knows he does not have all the answers.

Thanks for answering Tony. You claim to have 'faith', so you must believe that you know your God exists, yes? Without that 'knowledge' you might harbour 'hope', but hope doesn't equate to 'faith'.

No, they don't - but one thing I would say - if an almighty creator God exists, I'm convinced the religious have given the title to the wrong bloke.

Anyway - if God exists then It obviously doesn't want to be known, for if It so desired and was not able then It would not be God. Not that what It desires is even relevant once you know It doesn't exist anyhow . . . but that's another story.

I like that quote Ratter. It made me think. I would however based on my own experience change one word, in either case, from 'cannot' to 'should'.
