Never heard many people mention these but I've seen lots of these lately in South Devon understand they are of the finch family.Remind me of the chaffinch really pretty. Have seen more bullfinches than normal this year.The season is really confused cowslips out already!

Don't see bramblings and haven't seen bullfinches in the garden in ages now. Will be interesting to see what turns up in the Birdwatch this weekend
They like niger seeds in our area (N.E. coast) and we occasionally get them feeding. Once I was able to pick up an exhausted one on an inbound North Sea Ferry and help to see it safely to land.

ground feeders attracted to the bits that fall from bird tables etc... sprinkle crushed sunflower hearts and nyger on the ground to encourage them to stay
