Have suffered from the same thing on and off for a while. Xrays showed "wear and tear" on the spine. (I am 62). Doctor suggested to seriously improve my posture when on the computer, or doing anything which involves leaning forward. Sitting upright is essential. This takes some getting used to! Also, I have tried a new pillow (TEMPUR) which supports my shoulder at night, really comfortable, and seems to be helping.
