My cats gone (even more) schizo!
4 Answers
My cats never exaclt been one for fussing, in fact he's an evil little Sugar but recently he's been really weird.
He normally likes to go out for a little bit then come back in and tuck up on the sofa the rest of the night but suddenly he wans to be out all the time. As soon as you stand up he runs to the front door to be let out and doesn't come back even when you shake his treats which used to guarantee a sharp return. But he is getting more vicious too. He's always been nearly and would attack if you try and stroke him or even just walk by but just now he was sitting next to me on the sofa, I was sitting completely still and he just flung himself at me, sinking his teeth and claws into my arm for no good reason. The other day he was savagely attacking his own tale as if it wasn't attached to him.
Is this something I should be concerned about? He's 7 and had his bits done as a kitten.

I ask this because our moggie started behaving very strangely when two new cats moved in down the road. I'm wondering if your cat is using you (a) to hone his fighting skills, and (b) because he feels safe to vent his feelings, cos we humans are suckers when it comes to unconditional love for our animals.
I'd say give him a couple of weeks, then take him to the vet, just in case there's an underlying physical problem.

Maybe a trip to the vet is needed? If he is acting so out of character maybe something has bothered him outside or someone has been cruel to him? It's hard to say because you can't watch them. My cat can sometimes be vicious just for the sake of it - I put it down to him being a Tom and there being a lot of competition for territory where we live - he has also been done.
