I have excrutiating pains between shoulder and elbow

and my fingers go cold, has anybody experience same. What causes this. Is it bad enough to visit a doctor. I hate going and havent been for 5 years.After thepain has gone my top arm feels heavy and achy.

It sounds like it could be RSI and you will need to see your doctor to find out treatment options. In the meantime just take ibuprofen to ease the pain.

How old are you? Are you taking any medication for any underlying medical condition?
For how long have you been having these pains? Are they shooting pains or persistent aching pains?
What is your occupation?

Was asking incase its anything to do with your heart. Especially now as you say left arm x

it only happens to me when I wake up with my arm outside the covers & above head level, I have to move my arm with the other one till the tingling stops then its back to normal - phew.

i am 69 yr female, take medication for high blood pressure, i fell sick and want to faint after pain has hit. i have had pain for 3 weeks. the pain is shooting, almost like electric shock. I am retired.

This sounds very much like brachial neuralga.......the root C5 or C6 in the neck is being irritated. I agree with daffy. ibuprofen 400mgms at least for the pain and monitor the situation for a couple of weeks.
