This is 'Don Corleone' back again.
'As you may have noticed from previous input from me, I spend a fair amount of time nowadays involved in cricket umpiring. I played the game until my late 50's, was an excellent close fielder, at gully or slip, even if I say so myself. The best part of the game for me, in those days of long ago, was the social side. Friendly on the field of play and even more so afterwards while having a social drink with your opponents. The brewers have changed over the years and now I have a drink with my colleague, while completing the forms we have to fill in, and talking to the players, the few who stay now after the game, about decisions given by us. Most of them, like most of you, know the basics, from the regular TV and radio coverage, but there are 42 Laws we have to be knowledgeable about. However, we all talk about and use the unwritten Law 43, which is 'Common sense'.'
