Has anyone ever obtained a good degree (eg 2:1 or First Class Honours) from the Open University?
I know of a young man who is thinking of doing a degree this way as he cannot afford University fees.
Years ago, I knew of a highly qualified Maths teacher who stopped doing it because of the low financial reward and also that he had to give up two weeks of his vacation to coach pupils.

i went to southampton university for my bachelors degree and am currently doing a masters at the ou. no difference in price or quality....but you have to motivate yourself at the ou and you can do the course at your own pace around a regular full time job, which pays for it. the materials and course matter/exams/essays are very good quality. got a first at southampton and currently getting a distinction at the ou....but then i am a clever sod x
