Why is Madonna an icon?
7 Answers
I saw her at the EMAs and didn't like her at all. I think Green Day was way better than M. If I had that much time, I could be just as fit as she is. Big deal! I think she can't sing and her music is getting worse, too.

Freddie Mercury once described himself as a 'musical prostitute', but Madonna is definitely a 'musical chameleon' and able to adapt to new trends that she believes will become profitable. It may be a somewhat shallow approach, but it keeps her off the streets. Good luck to her!
I adore Green Day, especially the 'Dookie' CD.

im not a fan either but you have to admire her.
and as for 'If I had that much time,I could be just as fit as she is' - do you honestly think that you are busier than an international popstar and female icon ?
im not having a pop at you and I would also agree that Green Day are much better but only because they are much more my taste and obviously yours.
You either like her or you don't,but those of us that are now in our 30's and have followed her from the beginning know that there is something about her,she definitely has the "it" factor. She is alluring and she's said she doesn't have the greatest singing voice, but she has something to say and it usually makes people listen.I don't agree with the vulgarity of the past, but like I said, she always has that special something that makes me want to watch her.And she puts on a well worth watching show.
