if u have trvld from any EU country and the USA they should be going by the montreal convention which pays out more than the warsaw convention which is $20.00 per kg... the montreal will pay the value of suitcase and contents again with deprisiation involved but again the airline will need an approx value and evan prove of purchase of all items.
hope this helps u...
karl.... if u look at the EU law,,, it does not mention lost/damaged luggage... it is only on ur flight,,, and the EU law was only brought in for the no frils airlines like easy jet etc etc,,,, and the law stipulates what we (the airline) can and can not do,, now b4 the scedules airlines would bend over backwards and help and deal with u to the best that they would,, now they r just going by the law,, itstats we have to re book u on the next avlb flt,, that flt is usually our own,, b4 we would book u on any airline now we don't....
what do u want from us the airlines...???
