Word Processor

Anyone know where I can download a free word processing program which will do a character count and spell check?

Preferably a small download as I have dialup

OpenOffice, maybe? Take a look at it.

I used that on my LINUX OS. Now I have a Mac and I use the Mac version called NeoOffice.

I despise Microsoft Word and the only version I have is too old to reinstall now I'm running Windows XP... it just gets frustrating using wordpad sometimes

Open Office is indeed great but it is a big download (there is a slightly newer version out this week - or a patch - I haven't got round to it yet). However, you'll find it on the cover disc of most (if not all) of this month's computer magazines.

ah, that might be a better idea then. Having a few problems downloading so I'll see what I can get hold of.. I wirk at WHSmith so shouldn't be difficult

OpenOffice on a free CD-ROM is obviously the way to go.

Try the very excellant "Rough Draft"not as rough as it may sound.It looks very much like Microsoft Word,but is actually better.It is free and the Download might be about ten minutes on dial up.
