Can anyone suggest some good albums to buy. Currently listening to The Coral, The Darkness Etc. Big fan of Neil Young, Lou Reed, The Byrds, but I am willing to give anything a go. No Whitney or Maria though - I have a limit.

well i prefer cradle of filth
The Kings of Leon album is well worth having, and you'll hear the same louche Southern swagger that Neil Young gets when he cranks it up. The Datsuns are another fine guitar band at the moment (or is a six month old LP out of date these days?). Having said that, I'm off to buy the new Kraftwerk CD, and I suggest you do the same.
When I was 17 (18 years ago) I was introduced to two albums by J.J Cale: Troubadour and Naturally...both awesome..and not a duff track on either. When I look back, it was probably not the typical style of music young people were into in 1985 (the albums were actually recorded in the 70s) but they certainly made an impression on me and influenced my music tastes thereafter.
How about British Sea Power [new album just out] or Lemon Jelly.
Judging by your likes, I'd highly reccommend the new Ween album 'quebec'. Ween are similar to The Coral in that my have many different styles but are tonnes better - The Coral are like Ween Lite.
any michael jackson albums, maybe not his latest one but any of the previous are excellent. all of coldplays are good, and stevie wonder is also excellent, i dnt kno the titles but these guys albums are brilliant.
I agree about British Sea Power and Cosmic Rough Riders, both excellent. My personal recommendation would be Lovers by The Sleepy Jackson. Australian, ultra hooky catchy, brilliant.
Dreamtheater - Awake for Prog Rock Paradise!
Hows about Sg Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band or Abbey Road by the Beatles. I've got all their albums and these are very good.
