Why do people in quizzes say this when they dont know the answer? Also why do people say 'It was before my time' when they dont know the answer either? I know all about Henry V111 and he was a bit before my time. Why dont they just say that they dont know the answer?

I guess you were watching The Chase...what an idiot that woman was. Hey, I was not alive in the dinosaur age but I still know more about them than a middle aged woman should (Jurassic Park, one son etc). I heard something similar on another programme where music was concerned. So, I ask, no-one should know anything about Mozart because he was before our time???? Thank you for putting this up and giving me room to vent LOL
Cannot agree with you more-just an excuse for being thick half the time.
I don't know !!
I think folk do it to extend their 15 minutes of fame and have as much camera time as possible.

Quizzes with multiple choice questions are the worst. When they explain how they came to a particular answer drives me insane. Why can't they just give the answer? They don't have to explain why it isn't any of the other options?
You think exactly like me.
Another thing when they have multiple answers and say "I don't know this is a guess" and get it right, the question master says "Brilliant, well done". It was a guess for heavens sake !!
er.. i don't know the answer :-D
Didn't see The Chase tonight but saw Eggheads and a young man given three choices couldn't pick Auld lang syne as where the phrase he was given came from.I really struggle to comprehend how some of these teams pass the audition when apparentlly better performing teams at audition fail to be selected.

I loved all the answers, Im glad people agree with me. These people drive me up the wall! And I hate it on The Chase when people take the minus offer of money, just to get back in the final. I would be hopping mad if I had won say £30,000, and someone took minus £2,000. Well, to be honest, i would not go one the programme. Its the same in 'In it to win it' when people dont answer any questions, and get in on the end, and have a share of the money other people have put in the kitty. Rant over!
What did the woman on The Chase say?

I think it was yesterday's Chase. I think the woman got quite a bit of money and then took a lower offer
