Have been awake since 4am. Fan is in bedroom but its just moving the hot air about! We go from pne extreme to the other - constant rain to 90 degrees - why cant we have a more comfy 75 lol.
lol! sorry! When I lived in Canada the weather programmes used the Centigrade and the USA ones Fahrenheit. Since coming back to the UK I rarely hear Fahrenheit anymore so presumed Smowball was from USA.
In order to get a cooling effect from a fan, it should be large and ceiling mounted. Ours our four-bladed, a diameter of about 48", and ceiling mounted. For the past 10 days our nights have been around 25C with a humidex of around 32C. Even though we have a/c, we just use the fan in the bedroom and it does really cool things; it doesn't "just move hot air around". They are fantastic, and save on hydro also.
