I have created a table and made a form which is to be used to popoulate the table but I would like to run a query which checks that certain fields have been input.

so: the form is completed, the user clicks exit and the validation runs and informs the users of the 'blank' fields

many thanks

Perhaps a better solution would be to set 'Required' to be true in the table design. Then Access would not allow records to be created with empty fields, if this is what you you are trying to achieve.

Thanks for your response Perrin.... but do you know how I can insert an error message also? So it says "please go back and complete...."
