I appear to be at "that stage" in a woman's life and I am suffering terribly with hot flushes, mainly during the day.
Please can anyone recommend something that will help?

The most helpful thing is a sense of humour and a big bathtowel to lie on at night have fresh nightclothes ready for a quick change and know it passes.... eventually... and you will move from moody hormonal b1tc h to grumpy old lady in good time.... at least thats what happened to me
(Although HRT patches helped a bit in the early stages)
Sucking mints makes you feel cooler too. It does me anyway.
I think it feels like it's cooling your insides. It's probably psychological but I find it helpful.
Also, I'm not prissy about my hair so if it's too hot I wet it.
It helps to have a sheet under the duvet so you can throw back the duvet and still have a sheet over you. I put an old sheet in the suitcase and use this when visiting friends and family.
Another friend has zip together duvets of different togs so she can have the thinner side.
