Title Builder Beta

Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

I have the answer to 17A from the definition and crosschecked letters, but don't understand the clue.
Any hints please?

Dispute when about to hear cut-down fugal passage

And how many letters please? And do you have any?

Or tell us the answer you have and we'll see if we can explain it

Boreas - all I could see was 'set to' for dispute and 're' for about,with the solution being a fugal passage.

I have a similar prob with 12D.
I have the 'encountered' and 'matter' parts, but can't see the 'nut'.
(Though I have the answer)

Boreas, that sounds perfect - I'm afraid I just stuck the answer in without working it out too much.

'En' is in Bradford's, under 'nut' - so that fits in with the rest.(the word for 'matter' is interrupted slightly by the 'en').

Correction. 'en' is given in Chambers under nut.
