Seeing Stars....

Ok, so not quite 'stars', but tiny little bright lights/lines before my eyes.
If I bed around, like to wash in the shower, then turn back, it happens.
It's almost like little electricity 'lines' running around and slowly fading away after 30 seconds or so.
I don't feel at all light headed.

Any ideas?

Yes....that certainly would make sense.....and would add up to your symptoms.

In my limited experience such lights are either caused by momentary low blood pressure or when the vitreous gel detaches from the back of the eye. I'm sure there must be other causes but those I've experienced.
Yes, detached retinas can have that effect, although babysham says she's had optician appointments and this has been happening a while.

I've had this for one/two years, and I've had at least two optician appointments during this time, so I can't imagine it would be eyesight related.

I'm quite happy with Sqad's diagnosis, and will stick with that. As I say, it's not something that causes a problem, just made me wonder what it was really.

Thanks again.
I've had exactly this as you describe all my life and it's only when I move my neck suddenly or throw my head up (and I've often got it in the shower) so if it's indicative of something horrid it sure must take a long time to happen:-)

At last! Someone who knows what I mean!! :-)
It's weird isn't it? Ok, not 'weird', but more annoying not to know what it is - although thanks to Sqad I'm pretty sure we now do.

Thanks for posting that Prudie. I was starting to feel a bit daft saying it was like 'bright worms floating around'! lol

It's like electric sparkles, sometimes there's a faint noise like the sea going over shingle (now I'm sounding a crackpot!). I've assumed it was just something going in my neck bones.
Question Author
Yes!! I always say to my family it's like a 'crackling' noise. Haha I'm just glad you said that bit first! :-)
Wow, never had sound with it.
