yesterday i thought mykeyboard on my little computer needed a clean so i wiped it with a wet wipe now it's broken ,oh had it in pieces but can't fix it so until i get another one oh has kindly trusted me with his big computer .
I use one of those plug in tiny micro hoovers on my keyboard, i don't think it can break using one of those. I would only wipe it when it is switched off too. It is possible you have jammed a key down though,
i cleaned it when it was off and now no keys work oh thinks in rubbing the keys i've dislodged a connection underneath but with out a special tool thing he can't get to it
Strange - I always use wet wipes but not exceedingly wet ones. I hold the keyboard upside down and band it a few times on the desk and all the loose dirt come free, I am not known for the gentle touch!
Mallyh - keyboards are dirt cheap - I have about 3 in my cupboard that came with new computers but I am using keyboard dating from 1983 (I "got" it) from work. Ugly big thing but types very fast. Love it.
I use a shaving brush to clean mine, cost me 45p,
I turn keyboard upside down every now and then and give a swish between the keys with shaving brush. dislodges all those bits of fluff, dust and crumbs no hassle. X
i used my little computer brush first but little laptop died ,i had to press some of the buttons quite hard before it's wash so perhaps it was on the way out
